        PALATAKI is a preserved monument with a view on the sea, built in 1903 on a hill of the Limenaria area. Ita was designed by the famous italian architect Alberto Arigoni, in order to house the german company "Spiedel" which was exploiting the, modern for that time, mineral mines of which the area of Limenaria was so well known. Locals named it "Palataki" because of its individual structure type. it is a two-storeyed building with a characteristic towel built on each side. The frst owners left in 1963.

One of the most famous and important monuments of ancient Philippoi is the Hellenistic theatre, built around the 4th century B.C., probably by the King of Macedonia and father of Alexandr the Great, and it still dominates at the lower part of the Acropolis hill.
